The Role:

Crown Paints is looking for a Finance Apprentice to contribute to month-end activities, forecasting, and strategic support tasks. The ideal candidate will work alongside a dynamic team within all six Decorative businesses to ensure consolidated views while following group policies.

This position offers a great opportunity for someone part-qualified (up to AAT Level 2) to gain practical experience in a well-established organization like Crown Paints while working towards completing the AAT Level 3 qualification.


Key Tasks:
  • Run the weekly sales consolidation Flash reporting, providing necessary commentary and risk mitigation actions.
  • Assist in consolidating preliminary sales data from all six Decorative businesses.
  • Support Tagetik/Group reporting for core monthly reporting.
  • Contribute to Monthly Management Review (MMR) covering Profitability, Accounts Receivable, and CAPEX.
  • Participate in the deep-dive OPEX Project for the six Decorative businesses.
  • Support Business Review Process through trend and data analysis.
  • Collaborate on the forecast process by consolidating data from individual businesses.
  • Develop Business Partnering across the Deco Business Finance team.

Key Success Criteria:

  • Prioritize projects/tasks to meet internal deadlines.
  • Provide finance support in consolidating data from all Decorative businesses.
  • Assist in monthly results consolidation, forecast activities, and initiative reviews for Decorative Business Finance.
  • Streamline local processes for month-end and forecasting to identify areas of improvement.
  • Complete the Apprentice course successfully.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Three A levels or equivalent, with a minimum of 104 UCAS tariff points.
  • Working towards AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma or BTEC Level 3 in Business or Business & Accounting.
  • GCSE English Language and Maths, along with preferably a Business-related subject at grade A*-C/9-4.
