An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Critical Care dietetic team at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in a full time (1.0WTE) permanent band 6 role.
The successful candidate will be part of the critical care team which includes 5 dietitians and an advanced dietetic assistant.
The team consists of 1 x 8a, 3 x band 7's, 2 x band 6, 1 x band 4 and support from a Consultant Dietitian.
The team are highly regarded members of the critical care multi-disciplinary team.The position is rotational with the second specialist critical care dietitian within the team.
Rotations will include the critical care unit at St Thomas' Hospital and the other rotation working on the critical care unit at Guy's Hospital and the Lane Fox Unit at St Thomas' Hospital.
The nutritional assessment, management and provision of nutrition support to patients on both the Intensive Care Unit and the High Dependency Units and the Lane Fox Unit.
The development and updating of nutrition related guidelines and protocols for Critical Care (Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Units).
To effectively communicate nutrition care plans to members of the MDT, including the nursing staff and consultant intensivists on a one to one basis and as part of the wider ward round.
To lead on the improvement of the catering service to the Intensive Care Unit as well as establishing and training of a team of nutrition link nurses.
The post holders will be joining a team of over100 Dietitians working across Guy's, St Thomas', the Evelina Children's Hospital, and Lambeth, Southwark community services.

BSc in Dietetics or equivalentBroad post registration experience within Clinical Dietetics, especially with patients who are enterally fed
Experience of training student dietitians
Sound clinical knowledge, especially of nutrition support in the acute clinical setting
Sound knowledge of current issues in dietetics/critical care
Advanced BDA course in nutrition support
Computer Literacy
