Volunteer Coordinator
WomenCentre:

  • Job description
Background

As a large women's centre, we support over 2,000 women and girls in Calderdale and Kirklees, aged from their early teens into their 80s.

We offer a women-centred, integrated 'one-stop shop' service which recognises the links between the different problems and challenges women face in their lives, within a safe and empowering space.

Many of the women and girls accessing our services have experienced trauma and are at points of crisis in their lives.

Outline of purpose of the post

Many teams are supported by volunteers in this work, and we are seeking to appoint a Volunteer Coordinator for Calderdale who will be the first point of contact for the Calderdale Volunteer team throughout the week.

This post will contribute to the positive experience of existing volunteers and will add value to the different ways that women and girls are supported by teams across the organisation by recruiting, inducting, supporting and developing new volunteers.

The co-ordinator will be based at the WomenCentre, Halifax Office.

Personal and job-related skills include: A good understanding and appreciation of the volunteering role, an understanding of confidentiality and taking a women centred approach, in keeping with the ethos and values of the WomenCentre.

We are an organisation that promotes safeguarding practice across all our service delivery, staff and volunteer recruitment.

Closing Date:

Monday 2nd October 2023 9am.

Interviews will be held in Halifax on: Friday 6th October 2023.
