Associate Lecturer

York Law School is looking to appoint a number of associate lecturers (in total the equivalent of a 0.9 FTE post) to act as problem-based learning (PBL) tutors adding to our existing team of PBL tutors to meet the needs of our growing undergraduate student numbers.

The posts will be part-time (0.2 to 0.5 FTE - by agreement this is flexible) working primarily during semester times.


Role:


You will be expected to deliver Problem-based learning, legal skills and simulated learning activities on our Undergraduate Programme and contribute to general learning and teaching on our Programmes.


Skills, Experience & Qualification needed:

  • Undergraduate degree in law or equivalent professional qualification in law and a detailed knowledge in the law of England and Wales
  • You will have highly developed communication skills
  • You will have the ability to assess and supervise the work of students, provide advice on study skills and learning support to students across different levels of academic ability, and assist them with learning problems
  • You will also have experience of using different delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students or other learners.
