About the role
Housing Caretakers provide an essential service to residents living in our blocks of flats.

Along with Cleaning and Caretaking duties there is an element of inspection and record keeping connected with keeping occupiers safe and secure.


The hours of work for this position are Monday to Friday 9.15am - 3pm with a 45 minute lunch break.

What will you be doing?

This position would ideally be suited to a physically fit and active person as the role will involve a degree of manual handling and lifting activities.

Applicants should have an ability to clean to high standards, paint, use a screwdriver and hammer and nail and a pair of shrub pruners.

Housing Caretakers also undertake Garage Inspections and Minor Clearances, Fire alarm Testing, and Grounds Maintenance tasks.

About you
Applicants should have good basic communication skills and should enjoy working with and resolving customer enquiries and issues.

Experience in a cleaning or caretaking role is desirable but not essential. A willingness to learn and an enthusiastic positive outlook are however essential.


Interested applicants will have a good standard of education and a driving licence is an essential requirement as there will be occasions when you may be responsible for driving a council owned vehicle.
