London, Greater London, United Kingdom DyeRecycle Full time
About us:

DyeRecycle is a colour & fibre innovation company. Our chemical technology recycles colours from textile waste while making waste fabric white to enable more efficient fibre recycling. Our vision is to create a future where planet-positive textiles are made through circular processes and transparent supply chains in every step of manufacturing. Our mission is to provide circular & inspiring solutions of recycled colours and fibres to reduce the textile industry's dependence on virgin materials — without sacrificing performance or creativity. We are currently working on multiple testing & pilot projects with partners across the supply chain to evaluate and scale the technology.

The role

We are looking for an experienced strategic, decisive and forward-thinking Process Development Engineer to spearhead our technology development, accelerate our scale-up efforts, and drive commercialization processes. As one of the inaugural technical team members, you will play a pivotal role in establishing laboratory facilities and protocols, leading technology development initiatives encompassing process optimization, scale-up studies, and defining R&D strategies. You will lead a growing multidisciplinary team of +3 within Production and R&D, responsible for strategic decision making, team hiring and development, and ongoing adherence to project timelines and quality metrics.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Lead the design and optimization of processes for DyeRecycle technology, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with commercial objectives. Use your extensive experience to work with your team on design of experiments, data analysis, interpretation and documentation.
  2. Plan, resource and lead the scale-up of processes from laboratory to pilot-scale operations, facilitating seamless integration into commercial production.
  3. Utilize technoeconomic assessment tools to evaluate the viability and economic feasibility of process improvements and scale-up initiatives, informing decision-making and resource allocation.
  4. Strategically manage the patent portfolio to protect intellectual property and align with commercialization objectives, collaborating with legal and technical teams as needed.
  5. Engage in travel to manufacturing sites across Asia, Europe, and the US to oversee operations, troubleshoot issues, and foster relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  6. Build an exceptional technical culture, attracting and retaining a diverse group of high performing scientists and engineers.
  7. Responsible for adherence to health & safety and environmental matters, leading change initiatives to constantly be improving and performing in these areas.

We welcome applicants that don't necessarily tick all the boxes. If you feel that you tick most of them and are willing to learn the rest, we encourage you to apply.
