Multi Skilled Operator

We are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Operator to work at our site in Burnley.


The purpose of the role is to support the manufacturing operations in a variety of areas across the site as required by the business.

There will be an initial focus in the slitting and lamination department.

The role is required to operate on a full weekly rotating shift system working:

  • 6am
  • 2pm
  • 2pm
- 10pm

  • 10pm 6am
Full training will be provided.

Principal Duties:

  • To set up and operate the laminator machine to meet customer specifications and quality standards, in the most efficient way possible.
  • Ensure that the workplace is tidy, clean, orderly, and according to 5s standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement by observing waste reduction opportunities and acting on them when applicable
  • Provide break cover to increase department overall performance
  • Set up and operate a variety of machinery and ancillary equipment
  • Monitor and maintain product specifications carrying out online adjustments as required
  • Accurately complete all production paperwork in a timely manner
  • Carry out quality tests and measurements and implement required corrective actions
  • Participate in hygiene and other audits
  • Assisting with machine changeovers
  • Assisting with day to day workplace organisation, planning, machine optimisation.
  • Holiday cover where required
  • Training of operators where appropriate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and maintain safe working practices whilst achieving production outputs
  • Hold personal accountability for Safety, Quality & Machine efficiency.
  • Packaging product according to requirements and specifications
  • Maintain and document material supply
  • Monitor machine and process parameters and escalate to technical staff where appropriate. Control and adjust machine and process parameters to maintain control of product within specification
  • Change materials, tools and equipment according to setup instructions and technical documents
  • Maintaining Food Hygiene Standards
  • Maintaining Visual Management Systems
  • Maintaining SHE systems
