We are seeking to recruit a permanent Head of Neuropsychology within NHS Forth Valley's Psychological Services.

This is a new opportunity which has arisen due to redesign resulting from significant investment in and expansion of neuropsychology in recent years.

Consequently neuropsychology will become a separate specialty within Psychological Services having previously been subsumed with Clinical Health Psychology.

This post represents a managerial role and the post holder will be a member of Psychological Services Management Group (PSMG) alongside the heads of other specialties within the service.

The PSMG is a dynamic and supportive team.

A key aspect of the role will be leading the Neuropsychology specialty to develop in line with other specialties and in accordance with the forthcoming Psychological Service Specifications.

The post holder will be expected to manage waiting times within the specialty and to contribute to overarching Psychological Services initiatives.

They will also be expected to represent NHS Forth Valley at the national HONS (Heads of Neuropsychology) group.


Neuropsychology within NHS Forth Valley comprises 4.0 WTE input to neurological (organic and functional), stroke, and specialist rehabilitation services which are funded by different funding streams.


The post holder will be expected to:

work alongside acute hospital service managers to oversee and develop neuropsychology services; provide operational management to psychology staff; and carry a clinical caseload.
