Role summary


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced strategist, or recently promoted Senior Strategist, to join our central IGNITE team.

IGNITE provides specialist Strategy, Creative, Design and Digital expertise across Grayling's 9 UK offices and 30+ global offices. We inspire and support account teams to deliver award-wining strategic and creative work and have fun in the process.

What you'll be doing

  • Working with the IGNITE team of Strategy, Creative, Design and Digital experts to produce insightdriven strategies and creative campaigns, rooted in a deep understanding of the business problem and target audience
  • Responding to client briefs and developing strategies, by undertaking thorough research, uncovering compelling insights and working with the wider IGNITE team to develop strategic platforms, creative ideas and campaigns
  • Providing strategic vision within your client's sector and developing strategies to support their goals
  • Driving strategic responses, using Grayling's strategic framework(s) and suite of tools (e.g. GlobalWebIndex, LSN, TalkWalker, Radarly etc)
  • Writing briefs that are singleminded and bring the creative team on the journey
  • Running projects autonomously, and collaborating with a UK and international team of creatives and communications professionals
  • Inspiring and upskilling team members and the wider agency to think strategically and demonstrating best practice
  • Confidently presenting to stakeholders and clients
  • Helping to deliver thought leadership and IP for the agency
  • Contributing to revenue growth by working with the IGNITE team to identify crossselling opportunities and organic growth opportunities
  • A mix of client work, new business development and agency training and inspiration

Skills & experience

  • Proven agency experience (or mix of agency and client side) in developing and executing integrated communications strategies and campaigns, from brief to research, identifying insights and strategy development on global and UK brands
  • Track record of delivering strategic insights, translated into businessdriving briefs and campaigns that have reached and influenced multi stakeholder groups
  • Talent for getting under the skin of a client's brand and their commercial challenges
  • Knowledge and experience of research and planning frameworks and tools for example, GlobalWebIndex, Mintel, Canvas8, LSN, Google Analytics, TalkWalker, etc
  • Solid understanding of the creative process, multichannel campaign planning and media mix, and measurement frameworks
  • Excellent persuasive written, presentation and communication skills
  • Collaborative and adaptive style, able to work with different clients, sectors and build relationships at all levels
  • Openminded and curious about human behaviour, society, and culture
