The successful post holder will carry out Parking and Traffic Enforcement throughout Borough through the issue of Penalty Charge Notices, identify and report vehicles for possible wheel clamping or removal for the reason of being parked in contravention of the relevant restrictions or for being abandoned.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out parking enforcement by patrolling the borough's streets and estates on foot, bicycle or motorised twowheeler.
  • Ensure all equipment used in the issue of PCNs is in working order and is kept secure at all times.
  • Issue Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles parked in contravention of the relevant restrictions.
  • Identify and report vehicles parked in contravention of parking restrictions or abandoned for possible wheel clamping or removal.
  • Maintain a true and accurate record of enforcement activity that will support the recovery of unpaid penalty charges.
  • Necessary, to provide statements to support cases dealt with by the independent adjudication service and to appear as the Council's witness at such hearings and in court.
  • As part of a twoperson vehicle removal crew, to direct the removal of vehicles and assist in the removal operation by recording appropriate details, taking photographs and acting to ensure the safety of the other crew member, self, public and the vehicle being removed.
  • Assist the public and act as a first point of contact for minor parking enquiries and enforcement matters.
  • Assist with surveys and issue information leaflets as required.

Personal Requirements:

  • Knowledge of parking legislation.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle or ride a scooter (with the correct licenses).
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate.
  • 2 year's work references.

WORKING HOURS AND RATE:

  • Hours: Mon
  • Fri / 9am 17:00pm
  • Rate: £17.37 p/h Umbrella
