Job Title: Band 6 Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse at Amersham Hospital

Job Summary:

  • Ensure safe and effective patient care
  • Act as a role model for junior staff
  • Participate in MDT meetings and resolve clinical issues
  • Supervise nursing care delivery and maintain cleanliness
  • Work with the manager on quality indicators and audits

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with NMC Registration
  • Degree in relevant field OR Relevant experience
  • Relevant Post-Registration experience

Desirable

  • Completion of appropriate leadership / management programme
  • PASS Course / Mentorship Qualification / Teaching Qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Previous Experience Working with Elderly Patients Providing Personal Care
  • Experience of Working at Band 5 Level Within a Related Field
  • Previous Experience in Teaching / Coaching / Mentoring

Desirable

  • Evidence of Working in an NHS environment

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

Essential

  • Ability to Communicate Clearly & Effectively - Both on the Telephone & Face-to-Face
  • Knowledge of maintaining a safe working environment
  • Excellent organisational skills & ability to assess workload
  • Awareness of Health & Safety issues
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Powerpoint & Excel
  • Able to delegate tasks and follow instructions
  • Physically fit to work in clinical areas
