Do you enjoy driving and meeting people?

Are you available to attend a recruitment open day in Calne on Monday 15th April?

Are you looking for a rewarding job? This may be the job for you

Vehicles for Change is a charity based in Wiltshire providing the world's first, fully attended, mobile toilet with changing facilities and equipment for people with disabilities and health conditions - the RevoLOO.

We are seeking a friendly and caring driver/attendant to drive the RevoLOO to venues, provide a fully attended service for the users and their carers, then drive the unit back to site in Calne.

The type of events you might attend vary hugely from major sporting events and music festivals to exhibitions and weddings.

Your duties will include

  • Collecting the mobile unit from Calne, driving to the event and setting up the unit
  • Providing a full attended service for the duration of the event. No personal care is required.
  • Welcoming users and their families and clearly and courteously explaining how to use the equipment (no personal care duties are required)
  • Working in a professional manner complying with health and safety at all times.
  • Engaging with people who have any enquiries about the RevoLOO and promote the profile of the charity.
  • Packing up the unit and driving back to Calne, Wiltshire
  • Working alongside an assistant attendant at busier events
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid UK driving license and be age 25 or over for insurance purposes
  • To be a confident communicator with the ability to engage with people with disabilities and their carers
  • Basic IT skills
  • Physical fitness to undertake moving/setting up the RevoLOO unit
  • Flexibility to work around the country and occasionally stay overnight to meet the demands of the events
Experience in a similar role is not essential, we are looking for the right people with the right characteristics.

The hours of work will depend on bookings.

We will require a minimum commitment from you and, there will be increasing amounts of work over the summer, which is our peak period.

Our vehicles are based in Calne and where you will start each job from, but you will travel all over the UK.

Salary is from £120 per day plus allowances for subsistence.

Some overnighting may be required where the accommodation will be either camping or a hotel depending on the event and location.

We will be holding a recruitment open day on 15th April 2024 in Calne.

This will be an opportunity to meet the team, see the RevoLOO unit, undertake a short interview and driving assessment.
