We are working with a well-respected, mid-sized accountancy firm, whose Private Client team is independently recognised for its expertise in personal tax and trusts work. The team is thriving, growing and keen to appoint a Trust & Tax Manager, who will oversee a portfolio of HNW trusts, estates and beneficiaries.

This is a supportive and sociable team, offering high quality work together with a genuine interest in nurturing and developing its staff. They offer hybrid working and discourage a long hours culture.

The role will involve working closely with several partners and directors, overseeing the delivery of trusts and estates advice to a HNW client base. You'll supervise a team of junior advisers, ensuring the annual tax and accounts compliance processes are completed effectively. However, you'll also get involved with interesting one-off trust advisory projects, particularly relating to the mitigation of IHT.

You'll be the key point of contact for your clients, as well as liaising closely with trustees, HMRC and third-party advisers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are therefore important. You'll also need either the CTA, ACA or STEP qualification.

The successful candidate is likely to be either a Trust Manager seeking a new challenge, in an environment where they can progress towards Senior Manager grade, or alternatively an Assistant Manager with extensive trusts and personal tax experience, looking to step up to Manager grade. Either way, the individual will have experience of trust planning, trust accounts and return prep/review, as well as strong knowledge of personal tax issues effecting HNWIs (including experience of preparing self-assessment tax returns).
