We are the Youth Team, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, a multi-disciplinary Team promoting positive Mental Health in Young People aged 14 to 25 years.

We strive to be dynamic and creative and are dedicated Mental Health Professionals, focussing on the needs of Young People and providing a needs-led approach to working and seek like-minded clinicians to work alongside us in supporting Young Peoples Wellbeing and Mental Health.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include, but not exclusive to:

Assessments of Young People Caseload holding Multi-agency working; including family, acute hospital, primary care sector, social care, education and voluntary services Triage of referrals Working with Young People on a one to one basis

Supporting the Duty role within the Team

The post holder will undertake the planning and delivery of direct patient care with appropriate supervision, ensuring continuity of practice and working within a multi-disciplinary and multiagency environment.

Managing a caseload and the provision of Mental Health Care services to people with mental health care needs.

Support and advising to other health care professionals. To support aspects of service development

Provide an appropriate learning environment for relevant UEA students.

To be accountable for own professional actions.

Participate in mental health promotion.

Provide the appropriate interventions to patients with mental illness (incorporating NICE Guidelines).

Effective personal planning and organisation of daily work load.

Flexible working and manage own working time effectively and accordingly to service demands.

Practice autonomously in making clinical judgements, identifying alternative courses of action, managing and providing a high quality of care.

Maintain respectful, effective professional interpersonal relationships with others.

Qualifications

Essential

Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology or equivalent

Experience

Essential

Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience Demonstrate effective risk assessment and risk management experience Experience in the delivery of clinical interventions Experience in working in team delivering person centred treatment packages

Desirable

Experience in supporting service development

Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge of medication and the monitoring of its effects Knowledge of psychosocial interventions An understanding of the policies and guidelines both local and national National Institute for Clinical Excellence guidelines (Government initiative)
