Staffing Solutions are seeking Environment Porters to help maintain the hospital site.
The role involves clearing the clinical and non-clinical waste streams for our busy wards and departments to help ensure the provision of a positive environment for our patients.
It is essential that you have C1 category on your driving licence as part of the role will involve driving around the site in a 7.50 tonne truck collecting general waste bins, cardboard waste bins and clinical waste bins.
You will be expected to work on your own initiative when required, as well as part of a wider team, to ensure the Environmental waste service runs smoothly.
- Collection of clinical, domestic, recycling and other special waste items from wards and
- Segregation of all waste streams prior to collection by waste contractors.
- The weighing and logging of clinical waste bins and electrical appliances.
- Collection of soiled laundry from wards and departments for storage prior to collection by the laundry supplier.
- To collect and deliver furniture and other equipment as required from corridors, wards and departments as detailed in job request sheets.
