We are a 'Good' school (Ofsted, April 2024) which is vibrant and purposeful. We are a co-educational, comprehensive state boarding school for children aged 7 to 18 years, with approximately 670 flexi-borders and 430 full boarders. We are looking for an exceptional Teacher of English who can provide highly effective and innovative teaching of English across the senior school, to ensure that all our students make excellent progress and inspire students to have a passion for the subject. Some experience in delivering Media Studies and/or Drama would be a benefit but is not essential.
All KS4 students do both English Language and English Literature at GCSE.
The department is keen to develop further the academic successes which have been gained by the students right across the ability range including a number of students going on to study at degree level.
There are also opportunities to teach Media Studies and/or Drama at KS4 and KS5 for candidates with experience in this area, although this is not essential.
