Your new role at NewDay

As a Senior Software Engineer you will develop innovative products and cloud solutions to tackle a wide variety of problems to evolve our platform. Key contributor to system design and architecture to achieve high impact outcomes. We expect engineers to have the desire of curiosity, passion, a driven, enthusiastic mentality, to be proficient in algorithms, problem solving, and crafting scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant architectures. Effective communication is an attribute we care deeply about, as an engineer you and your team will move in a fast-paced engineering environment to achieve outstanding results.

You'll deliver

  • Architect, design, build, and deliver highly-available, always-on, zero downtime API products and solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other colleagues to seek exciting and results-oriented problems for delivering value
  • Write clear, maintainable code that will scale
  • Contribute to production operation and monitoring of systems and aware of SLAs
  • Learn, grow, and mentor other engineers through code reviews and pair programming to accelerate their technical mastery
  • Challenge team processes, looking for ways to improve them
  • Assist in the development and drive of good practices within the team, making an impact on the whole team

What you'll bring

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:

  • Consistent record of implementing high-quality cloud software solutions, i.e. Azure, AWS, GCP
  • Awareness of a variety of cloud architectures
  • Good understanding of consistency, reliability, scalability of systems without downtime
  • An understanding of design patterns and API design
  • Experience of system design, design patterns, API design and implementation of large scale distributed systems in the cloud, from IaaS, Containers to PaaS. We use Microsoft Azure, we love serverless and containers
  • Practical experience of system reliability and stability patterns
  • T-shaped engineer, but major in C#
  • Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Know how to write readable, idiomatic, and maintainable C#
  • Experience implementing sophisticated API products
  • Experience of agile methodologies

And would love you to know or learn:

  • Strong product focus mentality, especially API engineering. We like API's
  • Experience building highly-scalable API products that meet the high demands of millions of users
  • Launched API's to both internal and external consumers
  • Experience in FinTech
  • Experience in consumer lending or credit card issuing
