2 Background:

Welbeck Road Health Centre is a large training and dispensing practice in Bolsover,

Derbyshire. There is easy road and transport links.

We have a large and friendly clinical team including 12 GPs, ANP and ACPs, a clinical pharmacist and first contact physiotherapy, social prescribing and mental health practitioner support alongside our skilled nursing, health care assistant, administration and reception teams.

As a training practice we also have GP registrars, medical and nursing students at different stages of training. We are actively supporting team members through level 7 qualifications and certification with independent prescribing.

We have a "Good" rating with CQC and offer a wide range of primary care services to our population of approximately patients.

4 Job Summary:


We strive to deliver the best service possible to our patients and are constantly developing to maintain our high standards of care.

We feel a senior paramedic or paramedic practitioner following a period of direct in-house training would be able to work reasonably independently alongside our GP and nursing teams.

We are a very supportive clinical team and as such debriefing and continued professional development will always be available.


Previous experience in primary care or completion of urgent care modules is not essential however applicants should be willing to learn and employ skills in acute minor illness, chronic illness and prescribing.

The post is a permanent post, ideally full-time to work during our core hours of 8am

  • 6:30pm Monday to Friday however there is some mutually agreeable flexibility as required.

Key responsibilities a. Assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with acute medical conditions and injuries both remote and in person. b. Undertaking home visits for patients who are unwell, at risk of hospital admission or completely housebound. c. Application of clinical skills in line with the immediate need of the patient for example ECGs, venepuncture and injections. d. Potential for development and involvement with chronic disease management (in both the practice and community setting). e. Engagement with regular clinical supervision and guidance through our GP team f. Consistent demonstration of collaborative, teamworking and professional skills in all settings.


Within this role there is also the opportunity to pursue any areas of special interest that will be of benefit to both the applicant and the practice.

(Specific duties will be tailored to the individual - with recognition that the role alongside most things in the primary care setting will require a high level of flexibility).
