The Opportunity:

  • Due to successful project outcomes, there is an exciting opening for an HVAC Engineer to join a top engineering consultancy known for its proficient workforce and innovative solutions to major UK projects.

The Role:

  • As the Senior HVAC Engineer, your responsibilities include defining and coordinating the scope of work to ensure safe and quality project execution within the set timeframe.
  • Delivery of design and engineering in line with technical specifications.

Contract Estimated Duration: 12 months. This role falls within IR35 regulations.


Your duties and responsibilities will involve:

  • Developing designs and documentation to meet technical specifications.
  • Producing design deliverables throughout the process.
  • Checking and approving discipline-specific design deliverables.
  • Contributing to design and safety reviews.
  • Ensuring timely and quality delivery of design documentation, in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Developing cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Staff development and safety culture management.
  • Contractor management and technical consultancy.
  • Conducting site surveys and providing installation/commissioning support.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant technical/engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Working towards or holding Chartership in a specific engineering institution.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Proven track record in delivering design solutions.
  • Knowledge of safety legislation, statutory regulations, and design requirements for nuclear safety.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Experience in leading design teams and managing sub-contracts.
  • Experience in Containment and process ventilation systems, Design and Engineering substantiation, and bid preparation.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full membership in a specific engineering institution with CEng status.
  • Experience with IESVE design software.
  • UK driving licence.
