Role outlined
Working as a key member of the Buying team dealing with our suppliers and internal departments.
You will provide updates to the sales teams and ensure stock levels and future supplies meet with the demands of the business.
A professional attitude to all suppliers, customers and internal departments is essential.- Ensure stock levels are correct and stock availability is at 98%.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Solve delivery discrepancies and update lead times.
- Ensure supplier acknowledgements match with purchase order pricing.
- Chase open/overdue orders with suppliers and maintain order books.
- Ensure part codes and supplier information is up to date on system.
- Book all deliveries into stock.
- Solve invoice queries within 48 hours of receipt.
- Manage your suppliers in conjunction with the returns department and ensure products are sent back for credit.
- Partake in purchasing meetings and update the team on any issues or resolutions.
- Issue outstanding/overdue order report to suppliers.
- Analyse and report on supplier delivery performance and extended lead times.
- Carry out any production updates with suppliers via teams.
- Identify slow/nonmoving items in satellite branches and resolve.
- Update supplier performance charts and report to purchasing manager.
- Ensure there is sufficient warehouse space to support stock profiles in all branches.
- Keep warehouse picking locations up to date and inform warehouse staff about new products and discontinued lines.
- Analyse nonstandard items ordered and suggest additions/deletions to stock profiles.
- Analyse special sales to highlight potential stock lines.
- Attend customer visits with the Business Development Manager team.
