This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding and dynamic software delivery team within the Equiniti Group's Product and Engineering department focusing on its core global platforms. The team operates locations in the US (Minneapolis), UK (Worthing, Cardiff, London), Poland (Krakow) and India (Chennai), enabling the end-to-end Software Delivery Lifecycle.

As a Solution Designer, you apply a systems thinking approach to:
  • Interpret and support the elaboration of business requirements
  • Devise and design software solutions within a largely proprietary global application estate
  • Work with business, product, and external stakeholders to agree proposed solutions
  • Act as the solution subject matter expert and provide specialist platform advice during pre-engineering and engineering phases of the solution delivery
Your background should include experience of working with high volume ecommerce and/or highly transactional financial service applications and sites. As part of a multi skilled delivery team you will be expected to contribute across all areas of delivery and have a desire to learn new skills to support this. This is an exciting and challenging role for someone to develop their skills interpreting both functional and non-functional requirements to design software solutions and provide support throughout the delivery lifecycle.

This role is based in the UK; however, project work may require occasional short visits to other sites globally as well was flexibility to align with US Central Standard Time for critical meetings on a prearranged basis.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Supporting the requirements elaboration, ensuring they are complete and detailed; asking clarifying questions to ensure all requirements have been established and investigated
  • Engaging with a variety of stakeholders at varying levels to ensure that all aspects of the solution are fully considered and agreed
  • Defining the target solution and designing system components by applying system thinking techniques
  • Providing detailed solution design artefacts to support the engineering phase following agreed architectures, design standards, patterns, and methodology
  • Supporting engineering teams with clarifications, data queries and supporting the triage of issues
  • Working on multiple projects at various stages of delivery
Skills, Knowledge & Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:
  • A proven ability to use systems thinking techniques with experience in System Design
  • Knowledge and experience of Data Modelling and Design using UML (Use Cases, Use Case Models, Activity and Sequence Diagrams, Logical Data Models)
  • Ability to identify, escalate and manage risks, issues, and actions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills: able to "draw out" the requirements of others and identify areas that may have not been previously considered
  • Experience of acting as a platform, product and/or service expert; developing, maintaining, and providing specialist advice
  • Experience of using enterprise delivery tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
  • Awareness of IT Data Security standards
  • Experience of working to different software delivery lifecycles and methodologies
  • Driven to update your skills, awareness and understanding of developments in the wider commercial world and capable of bringing relevant ideas "to the table"
  • Knowledge of/experience in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
  • Experience in SQL Server, relational databases and physical data modelling preferred but not essential
  • Experience in the financial sector preferred but not essential
