The IT Support Assistant plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to end-users within the organisation.

They are responsible for resolving hardware and software-related issues, troubleshooting network problems, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the company's IT infrastructure.

The IT Support Assistant will report to the Technical Manager and will be office based in Sheffield city centre.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Assist in maintaining computers and other IT equipment, and ensuring timely upgrades as required.
  • Network Support: Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity issues, both wired and wireless, and collaborate with network administrators for resolution.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and userrelated information in the ticketing system or knowledge base for future reference.
  • Training and Support: Provide basic IT training to endusers, helping them become more proficient in utilizing IT resources and tools effectively.
  • System Security: Assist in implementing and enforcing IT security protocols, including antivirus updates, system patches, and data backup procedures.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or courses in ITrelated fields are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS), basic networking concepts, and Microsoft Office & Google Workspace, JIRA and Shopify. Having the ability and knowledge to manipulate various form of data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to successfully interact clearly with endusers and convey technical information.
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot technical issues logically and provide effective solutions.
  • A customercentric approach to providing excellent service and resolving user problems efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a organised and fastpaced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • A need to collaborate with other IT team members, share knowledge, and contribute to team goals.
  • Meticulous in documenting support requests, and resolutions, and maintaining IT asset inventory accurately.

£21,500.00 per year
