Job Description

Position: NOC Engineer - Building Data Center

Location: Rugby, UK - Hybrid

Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities:

Looking for a tech-savvy NOC (L3 level) Engineer to handle Network Infrastructure and related DC services. You'll be tackling various operational and administrative tasks following an ITIL framework to ensure smooth operations at two Data Centres. Your main focus will be on fulfilling Network Service Requests, resolving Incidents, and implementing Changes in the network environments.

Essential Requirement and Responsibilities

  • Security Cleared, UK National only.
  • Seeking someone with expertise in handling technologies at an advanced level, having skills in incident resolution, configuration, upgrades, and security. Proficiency in technologies like CISCO Firepower, FortiGate Firewalls, CISCO Catalyst Switches, Fortigate RAS VPN, OSPF/BGP, and network data and security is a must. Solid experience in configuring Routers, Switches, and Firewalls, as well as handling NOC/Incident Handling and supporting various network technologies such as routing/switching, Firewalls, load balancers, and proxies. Familiarity with alerting and monitoring tools (e.g., Manage Engine OPS manager, CISCO DNA-C, Prime, Nagios) and ITSM tools like Service Now is highly valued. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the availability for P1 Operational on-call support as needed. Additionally, responsible for documenting and controlling Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT processes.

Desired Characteristics

  • Preferred qualifications include experience with Packet Analysis, SoC Experience, and understanding of WAF and Firewall logs. A solid grasp of DC Architecture, Infrastructure, and service management is desired, with a customer-centric approach to issue resolution to maintain service uptime and performance. Ability to offer technical support to the Cyber Security team is crucial, along with adherence to asset management processes and enhancing CMDB accuracy.
