About the role

Great Britain's electricity infrastructure is undergoing an ambitious, exciting, and important transformation. Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system, one that protects the planet and serves generations to come. The Infrastructure Development and Delivery Team are developing vital infrastructure to reach Net Zero.

As an OHL Development / Portfolio Engineer you'll be the technical lead in the Overhead Line Infrastructure Development team. You'll focus on developing the Infrastructure Development & Delivery overhead line portfolio from initial driver identification to option selection, leading the portfolio development of Overhead Lines to ensure a deliverable solution.

You'll cost overhead line projects, create deliverable construction programmes, and build relationships across delivery vehicles to understand interdependent projects and drivers.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, you'll produce a consolidated view of the Overhead Line workbook. You will also deliver training, coaching and support to other members of the team.

We're flexible on where you're based but there will be need to travel to Warwick twice a week and this can be combined with hybrid working from home.

What you'll need

We're looking for someone who has a technical understanding and previous experience in developing overhead line projects.

With experience mentoring others, you'll need to have good written and verbal communication skills. A UK driving licence is also essential. Ideally, you'll be educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline and you'll have a proficient understanding of building construction programmes, good understanding of safety in construction, costing overhead line projects and communicating with stakeholders.
