Edes House - West Sussex County Council

Your day-to-day role will be supporting the Systems and Information Team this will range from:

  • Assisting with the co-ordination of ceremonies. For example, receiving and guiding participants.
  • Supporting Registration Officers in the performance of their duties during ceremonies.
  • Assist with food and beverage service, including hot and cold drinks, setting up and clearing buffets.
  • Communicate face to face with customers in a professional, courteous and appropriate manner.
  • Responsible for taking orders from customers, including processing small amounts of cash and card payments using the point of sale system.
  • Assisting with room setups including preparation for change of room use and setup for different uses e.g. drinks reception, adding chair covers, tours etc.

About The Job Salary**: £10.79 to £10.98 hourly rate (£12.09 to £12.31 with annual leave entitlement)

Working Pattern:

Casual Hours (Shift duration between 2 and 8 hours and will include weekends (mainly Saturdays) and occasional evening work.)

Experience and Skills Key Skills**:

  • Literacy skills in order to understand written instructions describing tasks.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic cash handling and numeracy.
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills (including use of tact) in order to provide clear and concise instructions to a range of clients.

Qualifications and/or experience:

  • Customer service experience in dealing with the general public.
  • Experience of corporate hospitality within a catering environment with food and beverage service
