McKee's Country Store and Restaurant is a family run business maintaining 80+ staff members. We Farm - Beef Cattle, Lamb, Poultry and Egg. Food traceability being key to winning our customer fan base.

McKee's Country Store & Restaurant is looking for a Cake Decorator to join our team. Your steady hand at decorating cakes & traybakes is a key requirement for this position.

You should be able to design and decorate cakes and other products in a variety of styles and for different occasions throughout the year.

You should be familiar with decorating and modelling tools.


Besides fulfilling cake orders as per customer requirements, you will also be decorating cakes, desserts, pastries & traybakes daily to be sold in McKee's Country Store & Restaurant and for catering events.

You will also be responsible for preparing cake fillings, frostings, and assisting in pastry decoration.

You should adhere to the health and safety standards and maintain the cleanliness of your workstation while executing your duties.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Setting up equipment and working independently
  • Follow recipes & methods.
  • Baking cakes to order and assembling these if necessary.
  • Adding decorations, chocolate and icing to cakes
  • Writing messages on cakes using icing
  • Making up icing, fondant, chocolate etc.
  • Using a variety of different tools to create your designs.
  • Cleaning and storing equipment when you've finished the job. Cleans work area, washes counters, and performs other cleaning tasks.
  • Checking stock levels and ordering ingredients
  • Packages, labels, and prices premade cakes.
  • Maintains, cleans, and polishes the refrigerator showcase for cakes.
  • Using time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Packages, labels, and prices premade cakes.

Hours

Flexibility available, but usual hours of work:
Part time: 3 or 4 shifts a week, 6 hours per shift, Monday - Saturday.

Full time
  • Monday to Friday

No Sunday working.

Pay
Remuneration to be discussed.
