Drainage Engineer - Jetting Operative

We are on the hunt for full-time Jetting Operatives to team up with us at Thermatic Drainage.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and secure delivery of our services by visiting client locations to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance work.

Being a fully mobile position, a valid UK driving license is a must.

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in drainage and be well-versed in unblocking drains, high-pressure water jetting, trenchless pipework repairs, and conducting CCTV drain inspections.

This role is fully mobile and covers North Wales and Northwest England. Regular visits to Thermatic Drainage Head Office in Deeside are required.

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. However, occasional out-of-hours maintenance including early starts, late finishes, weekends, and night shifts might be necessary.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Essential:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in drainage
  • At least 2 years operating High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment
  • High-pressure water jetting safety awareness certification
  • Good knowledge of drainage systems
  • Proficiency in unblocking drainage systems
  • Competency in using CCTV drain survey equipment
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Thorough understanding and experience in meeting Health & Safety requirements
  • Full UK driving license
Desirable:
  • At least 2 years of drainage experience in a reactive maintenance or FM role
  • Manual handling skills
  • First aid certification
  • Abrasive wheels training
  • Certification in confined space entry
  • Experience in drain lining
  • Proficiency in using CAT (cable avoidance tool) for utility and sonde location works
  • Asbestos Awareness certification
  • CSCS card
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engaging in reactive contracts to diagnose drainage faults, including CCTV drain surveying, drain cleaning/jetting, unblocking drains, drain lining repairs, drain excavation and repair, assisting with drainage layout mapping, and problem-solving
  • Conducting planned and reactive maintenance as per Thermatic's PPM and task schedules
  • Providing accurate timesheet details within designated timelines
  • Performing basic facilities maintenance tasks as required
  • Assisting contract teams in meeting SLAs by promptly visiting client premises
  • Building positive client relationships through on-site interactions
  • Providing precise information for work quotations to office-based staff
  • Producing necessary reports
  • Escalating major site issues promptly
  • Supporting in the training and development of junior service engineers
