Your New Role


As the Rigid Pipelines lead you will work within the scopes of projects or tenders, surrounding all aspects associated with rigid pipeline engineering.

You will work from FEED stage all the way through to execution phase.

You will report to the Rigid pipe package lead/manager for technical support on all other parts of rigid pipeline scopes of work.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Within the context of a project or a tender, the One Rigid Lead is expected to coordinate, on behalf of the project team, all aspects associated with rigid pipeline engineering, including engineering input to / from fabrication and installation (constrains, limitation, envelope ) Including but not limited to:
  • Recommendation of the technology /most cost-effective pipeline system solution to be selected to tender/project.
  • Ensuring all inplace and mechanical design aspects of the pipeline subsystem is optimised and communicated as input to a project's installation / offshore fabrication strategy on a tender.
  • Assurance of a robust inservice design.
  • During project execution, the Rigid Pipeline Lead will be accountable towards the PEM for the design and engineering of the full rigid pipeline subsystem solution, including installation engineering through the R-Lay VDT.
  • Working closely with other colleagues in the rigid pipeline subsystem, for aspects from design, engineering, tender ect.
  • During FEED, Tenders and Projects, they is responsible of the development of technical specifications for Rigid Pipelines procurement and other procurement related to rigid pipelines.

Requirements:

Must Have

  • Holding a highquality honours degree or equivalent in a relevant field of engineering such as Mechanical, Naval or Civil Engineering with solid knowledge of materials (metallic and plastic).
  • Drive for Innovation, Strategic Awareness, Leadership Skills, Demonstrates schedule management skills, Drive for Results.
Nice to have

  • Additional postgraduate qualification(s) in subsea or pipeline related engineering.
Typical background and experience required

Should have

  • Good technical understanding and experience of rigid pipeline design.
  • Evidence of successful coordination & delivery of scopes within time and budget.
  • Evidence of excellent communication and interaction skills in multistakeholder situations.
  • Evidence of communication skills to client or IVBs.
  • Evidence of ability to adapt to change and circumstances, good schedule and budget control.
  • Engineering and/or tendering experience.
  • Evidence of leadership attitude towards Safety and Quality
Very nice to have

  • Experience in Reellay, Slay and/or Jlay.
  • Operational project experience from other phases such as fabrication, installation and commissioning.
  • Good awareness / experience of interfacing with other disciplines taking part in execution of a SURF scope.
  • Scheduling and costing appreciation of scopes
  • Example of past differentiation or innovation which help lowering the risk, cost or schedule of a design or operation.
