Age UK's Influencing Team are recruiting for a proactive, organised individual with excellent communication and administrative skills to support an important on-going collaborative programme of work as a
Physical Activity and Health Project Officer.

This is a fixed term contract until March 2025.
Age UK is a member of the Richmond Group of Charities, consisting of 12 health and care charities.

We are working together to support people living with multiple long-term health conditions (MLTHC) to be more physically active through their 'Movement forAll' collaborative work programme.

We are now taking the programme forwards through extended partnership funding with Sport England up until Spring 2025.

The aim is to focus on tackling inequalities and reducing inactivity amongst people with MLTHCs by utilising the learning and insight gatheredto date to influence key stakeholders and generate strategic system change.


Working closely with the Physical Activity and Health Programme Lead and Influencing Manager you will be supporting the day-to-day coordination of the programme, effective communications, grant requirements, liaison with internal and external stakeholders,organising events, data collection and analysis.

This is a fantastic hybrid opportunity, offering a blend of home based and office work, our office for this role is in London.

You may also be required to attend meetings at other locations across the UK when necessary.

Must haves:

  • Experience of working in a fast paced, complex environment, working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of coordinating events such as meetings, conferences, workshops and seminars.
  • Experience of working with evidence and insight.
  • Experience of coordinating and undertaking a range of communications.
  • Proven ability of managing a range of administrative tasks and diary coordination
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands and work calmly and confidently under pressure.
  • Excellent administrative skills, ability to maintain systems, manage processes and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to adapt tone and message for different audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships, work collaboratively but also on own initiative.
  • Good data management and analysis skills.
  • Strong IT skills.

Great to haves:

  • A successful track record of coordinating projects from ideas generation and initiation to delivery and completion.
  • Experience of working with charities and grant making bodies.
  • Experience of project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Awareness of online planning and communication packages and project management approaches.
  • Knowledge of physical activity in behaviour change context in particular in relation to people with long term health conditions.
  • Awareness of the health and wellbeing landscape in relation to physical activity.
