To be responsible for the provision of skilled perioperative care as a member of the multidisciplinary team. To actively participate in the management of junior staff and students.

As a skilled orthopaedic scrub practitioner have a good understanding of the knowledge and theory of orthopaedic procedures ensuring the equipment is available, policies and procedures are adhered to.

Participate in the surgical safety WHO checklist and count procedures and be responsible for safe use of complex equipment.

Maintain accurate documentation and demonstrate effective communication across the MDT, patient and family. Ensure the physical and psychological environment is conducive to providing optimum patient care for perioperative patients.
