As a result of the South West Prison Healthcare contract granted to Oxleas NHS trust in 2022, we are expanding our team and seeking compassionate, knowledgeable, and motivated Pharmacy Technicians to join our welcoming team at HMP Dartmoor.

Our healthcare team significantly contributes to promoting health and well-being for those in prison. We take pride in utilizing skills and techniques that inspire hope for patients' future reintegration into the community. As a Pharmacy Technician, your role will involve providing a medicines management service to prison patients under the guidance of a prison service pharmacist. You will dispense medicines to patients based on valid prescriptions, ensure proper intake, offer advice on medication usage, and promote healthy habits to aid in their recovery.

You will be responsible for dispensing prescriptions and managing stock, as well as supervising assistants in the dispensary. Your role will also entail elements of stock control, such as conducting stock top-ups, reviewing expiration dates, and assessing storage facilities for all medications, promptly reporting any issues to the prison service pharmacist.
