BPL is looking to recruit an ambitious and committed individual to lead and develop a dedicated fitness team at Your Space Pontefract.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has the drive and determination to join our fitness team.
Your role will ensure that the Fitness Suite equipment operates to high standards at all times - providing great guest service with minimum supervision.
You will also promote the services and facilities, supervise staff and arrange rota's, and take part in the day to day maintenance and upkeep of the fitness areas.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:
1 To manage the day to day operation of the facility in a supervisory capacity.
2 To supervise all staff members within agreed job designated areas and ensure
the appropriate delegation of tasks.
3 To supervise and lead the safe working practices and systems of work throughout the facility.
4 To provide, develop and empower other staff members in the delivery of excellent
customer service throughout the facility.
DETAILS OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 You will lead and supervise all job designations to ensure customers receive
a high quality service at all times.
2 You will lead the various staff designations under your agreed responsibility level
to ensure the facility operates efficiently, effectively and safely.
3 Ensure all staff actively embraces a financial ethos when it comes to housekeeping
and that care is always taken of the facility's fixtures/furnishings and equipment.
4 Responsible for a consistent approach in duty handovers and that effective
communication takes place in order to ensure operational information is shared fully
across all job designations under the supervisory remit of the post holder.
5 Contribute proactively to ensure that BPL maintains IIP status along with working
towards achieving other industry bench marking standards of quality such as Quest.
6 Responsible for ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed and to
recognize and bring to line manager's attention any requirement to review or amend.
7 Assist in co-ordinating the effective operation of employee working rotas,
authorising timesheets and maintaining records concerning employees; ensuring that
the Employment Policies are adhered to in liaison with the HR Department.
8 Assist in the effective induction and training of staff working under your supervision.
9 Responsible for the daily maintenance of all plant and equipment, safe working
practices and safety checks and emergency procedures in accordance with the
Health & Safety at Work Act, BPL's Safety Policy and Codes of Practice including
completion of associated documentation.
10 To ensure public order in the facility taking action to minimise vandalism and
hooliganism and for the general security of the venue including responding to
emergency call-outs as a nominated key holder.
11 Assist BPL in developing its customer service ethos and continuously improving the
staff culture in how customer service is developed, viewed and provided.
12 Ensure an effective line of communication is in place to keep staff members informed.
13 Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the facility, to include supervision, audited
checks and facility building tours on shifts.
14 Undertake regular audited checks and facility building tours to ensure leaflets, posters
and pricing information is available to customers at the facility in the agreed formats
and standards as part of your shift.
15 In a supervisory capacity develop strong teams which actively embraces continuous
improvement and enjoy a challenging working environment.
16 Become familiar with and take part in training to ensure full knowledge of relevant
acts and legislation relating to the facility operation.
And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Management.
