Vision Teaching are recruiting for a confident Behaviour Mentor to work in a Croydon Special Needs Secondary School.
The school are looking for someone to join their team as soon as possible and can offer fully paid trial days for successful applicants.
The School:
This Special Needs School caters for children aged with EHCP's and a variety of needs including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism and SPLD (Speech, Language and communication difficulties).
Behaviour at school can be challenging, but this is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who is able to build a strong rapport/relationship with students.
As a Behaviour Mentor you will receive a lot of support from Class Teachers and Senior Leaders toensure you have the right tools to succeed in your role.
The Behaviour Mentor role:
As a Behaviour Mentor you will be working to support students in their daily life at school.
You will assist the Class Teacher in the delivery of lessons, offer support to students with their work as well as participate in out-of classroom activities such astherapies.
You will be working within the Secondary site at school and could be supporting students across the phase.You must be flexible and confident to support students on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis. Previous experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties would be advantageous but not essential.
The Ideal Behaviour Mentor will:
- Have previous experience supporting children or young adults with (SEN) Special Needs
- Be confident, proactive and a team player
- Have strong behaviour management skills
- Have a clear, enhanced DBS check on the update service (or valid within 1 year)
- Be flexible and keen to develop their knowledge and understanding of SEN best practice
- Be available full time, to start as soon as possible
