To act as Clinical Risk Admin Lead to the Head of Complaints and Clinical Risk, co-ordinating comprehensive administrative support for the Clinical Risk Team.

Key focus of communication between the Clinical Risk Team, Trust staff and other NHS organisations, external bodies and users of the service.


  • Have a detailed understanding of Clinical Risk Management to include datix and associated processes
  • Management of Duty of Candour processes and arranging being open meetings with patients and relatives
  • Creating files and forms associated with Clinical Risk Management
  • Maintain an effective paper and electronic filing system of clinical investigation material including circulating of reports and statements etc.
  • Monitor the action plan database and followup outstanding actions
  • Arranging and coordinating RCA and Complaints training for staff members across the three sites
  • Coordinating and preparing the CLAEP report for discussion at the quarterly meeting
  • Arrange and minute meetings using full discretion in the selection of discussion and action points to be recorded.

  • Weekly Serious Clinical Incident meeting
  • Use the computer database to access information, ensuring that confidential information is only shared with appropriate individuals
  • Assess correspondence for priority and actions, ensuring urgent items are managed accordingly.
  • Where appropriate, compile letters and respond on behalf of the Head of Complaints and Clinical Risk
  • Respond to telephone and postal enquiries paying particular attention to confidentiality and public relations and timeliness of responses
  • Respond to patient telephone complaints in an efficient, sympathetic manner and escalate to the Clinical Risk Team
  • Undertake factfinding and dissemination of information as required and defined
  • Arrange conferences and meetings, acting as central liaison point to coordinate all parties involved.
  • Compile programmes for visitors to the Trust
  • Record appraisals, sickness absence, annual leave and mandatory training statistics for the Clinical Risk Team and share as appropriate
  • Assist in the recruitment administration process for staff within the Clinical Risk Team
  • Attend annual appraisal with the Head of Complaints and Clinical Risk
  • Provision of copy typing as required
  • Provision of presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
