Role Overview


Advance Welding is expanding it's operations and seeking a dedicated individual to join our manufacturing team as a TIG Welder.

As a TIG Welder, you will be carrying out skilled TIG Welding work on mainly Stainless Steel, including inspection, planning, preparation and cutting, inspection.

Additionally, you may be involved in the assembly of manufactured parts and mechanical tooling.

As part of the team, you will collaborate with team to ensure the consistent high standards our customers expect.

Advance Welding encourages employee feedback, and you may be required to assist our Research and Development team and the quality team when needed.

Pay:
From £14.00 per hour (Rate review on successful completion of initial probationary and training period)

Hours:
Between 24 & 39 Hours per week

You will be working within the hours,

Monday to Thursday - 7.30am - 4.30pm

Friday - 7.30am - 2.15pm

Location:
Work is based atHuddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD1 3QL.

(Employers main business address is in Cleckheaton.)

Based:
Working within the workshop at our Business Partner's address.

Working Environment
The working environment is manufacturing workshop equipped for TIG welding as well as CNC milling.


Advance Welding is a growing company, and opportunities for progression may arise in the future based on knowledge and understanding of the business.

We provide comprehensive training internally through coaching and mentoring. Additional training such as First Aid, Mental Health, Fire Marshal, or Forklift may be required.

Most training is conducted on-site, but some may be off-site at our group headquarters in Manchester, with all travel expenses reimbursed.

We operate a mandatory drugs and alcohol policy to ensure the safety and welfare of our employees.

Duties

  • Adhere to our health and safety guidelines, maintaining a safe working standard.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure a clean working environment.
- accurately follow engineering technical drawings and instructions for each job
- cut, drill, shape and prepare metal materials during fabrication activities, using manual and power tools
- check dimensions and thicknesses of materials to be welded
- operate welding equipment
- inspect and test welds and joins, using precision measuring instruments
- ensure the quality and accuracy of the finished products
- clean tools, equipment, and work areas
- work as part of a team

Qualifications/Attributes/Experience

Mandatory:

  • Qualified to Level 2 or above.
  • Display an overall positive attitude towards your colleagues, visitors and the business
  • Work well as part of a team, assisting others and seeking help when needed.
  • Attention to detail, following technical drawings and identifying discrepancies.
  • Problemsolving skills, attempting to resolve everyday tasks independently before seeking assistance.
  • Be responsible for own time management
  • Minimum 1 year's experience

Desirable:

  • Basic computer skills.

Please note:
This job requires reliable commuting or planning to relocate to Huddersfield before starting work.

Pay:
From £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
