Support Activity Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a new team supporting a 14-year-old young man with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, developmental delay, with physical, hearing and visional impairment, in the Ross-on-Wye area. He is a happy and energetic boy, who has interests typical for his age, being outdoors and being part of his active family and dogs.
We are looking for individuals who are outgoing, energetic, active and have a love of the outdoors. The role is not limited to assisting the client with his personal care or daily routine. But to enable him to be out in the community having fun. Taking part in leisure activities, such as horse riding, swimming, biking, gardening. And help build his life skills, independence, and social skills with his peers.


You will support him with his physiotherapy, speech and language and occupational therapy program to support him to achieve his goals.

The role will involve you working with his family, case manager, therapists and other support workers. This position therefore requires that you work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer.

This role will suit someone who is fun, active, patient and has a positive attitude towards inclusion. You will need to be physically able to carry out all his activities and his therapy program.

Experience preferred but a willingness to learn new tasks and skills is as important.

Excellent communication skills and clear speaking English.

Being able to drive is essential and an automatic car is provided to use when on shift.

Hours:
Shifts vary from before and after school/evening school and Weekends. Holidays and respite. Waking night, sleeping in shifts. Overtime will be available.

£15.50-£17.00 per hour
