Highly commercial finance role

Ignata Finance are exclusively partnering a high growth, acquisitive, £200m revenue business in their search for a new Commercial Finance lead who will support a key division.

This business has grown year on year and has an extremely robust and scalable customer base with investment that is seeing them expand internationally. The role holder will need to be commercially astute. You will be proactive in engaging and influencing the business, providing value added financial insight and support, robustly challenging decision making, and driving continuous improvement in business performance.

This is a newly created role and one where the successful candidate has the scope to make a huge difference. Supported by a large finance function, the role will need someone to own the C suite relationships but also be very in to the numbers, develop your own analysis and models to guide decision making.

Applicants need to be good communicators and influencers, able to draw out key risks and opportunities from complex business information, they need to be proactive to approach, work with, influence and challenge senior management. This role will allow the successful individual to gain a compressive understanding of the business and industry through building working relationships at all levels within the company.

Core tasks

  • Managing and assisting with the rolling forecast. Working closely with Operational leaders and other department Managers to understand business activities and forecast/budget accurately.
  • Work proactively with the Operational management team to drive commercial thinking
  • Responsible for monthly Board reporting for key KPIs
  • Analysing and presenting data to enable more robust decision making based on key commercial metrics
  • Preparation of monthly dashboards and analysis to share with Operations
  • Support with preparation of business cases and financial modelling for the business development team

Candidate profile

  • Accounting qualification; CIMA, ACA or ACCA
  • Stakeholder management at Director and c-suite level. Ability to influence decision makers and lead conversations to ensure optimal financial outcomes
  • Ability to drive results, having a track record of high performance and examples of delivering improvements to the top and bottom line
  • Strong financial analytical, modelling and accounting skills. Create and provide insight
  • Exhibiting a Growth Mindset; having an inquisitive mind, desire to learn and take on stretch goals
  • Self-motivated with an ability to organise and work independently
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and tackle complex operational initiatives collaboratively
  • High degree of pride in their work with a focus on high quality outputs and easy to use analysis
