The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon plays a crucial role in our operations by ensuring essential machinery runs smoothly at all times.

Joining as an RME Technician, your main tasks will involve maintaining a variety of equipment and workspaces while adhering to the best Health and Safety practices.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of site equipment
  • Conduct reactive repairs and diagnose faults in a live distribution warehouse
  • Utilize cutting-edge tools to maximize equipment effectiveness
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and practices
  • Help in the development and advancement of onsite apprentices
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects and implement best practices across various EU sites

A day in the life:

Our RME Technicians are stationed on-site to respond promptly to any machinery issues. You'll perform planned maintenance on our sites' equipment to ensure safe operations. Additionally, you'll swiftly address breakdowns, find solutions, and make recommendations for long-term enhancements.

Collaborating with senior colleagues, you'll handle daily maintenance tasks like painting and plumbing, coordinating with contractors when specialized expertise is required.

You'll work various shifts to provide support to our sites 24/7, enabling Amazon to maintain its renowned efficiency.

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is dedicated to optimizing our equipment's performance. Comprised of skilled team players led by experienced professionals, we work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.

Whether installing cutting-edge technology or ensuring legal compliance and operational efficiency, our team handles a wide array of technical aspects at Amazon.

We prioritize minimizing downtime in Amazon's vital operational sites to ensure timely order deliveries. Our willingness to innovate and introduce new processes and technologies like Amazon Robotics demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement.

We are currently seeking candidates to work from the following locations:

Rochester, GBR

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completed a full Engineering apprenticeship or hold a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering field (City & Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ)
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
  • Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
  • Proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng
  • Experience in condition-based monitoring
  • Experience with print and apply machines
  • Experience in faultfinding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems
