The role will help shape and implement landscape-scale biodiversity improvements throughout rail networks. The role offers the opportunity to work in a friendly, collaborative team in a major organisation and engage with key internal and external stakeholders. Operational Ecologists will work under the guidance of a Strategic Ecologist, assisting them in the production of core project deliverables. The first year will focus on:

  • Biodiversity Action Plans with overarching objectives for Routes
  • Habitat Management Plans showing how the objectives will be put into practice
  • Pilot development of implementation for future stages
  • Supporting integration of plans into day-to-day working practices and standards

The role will move to working with internal and external teams to implement the plans into biodiversity interventions.
