Job Title: Data Specialist

Department: IT

An opportunity has arisen in our IT department for a Data Specialist. As a Data Specialist at Wightlink, you'll be at the forefront of managing and optimizing data and the use of AI within the company.

Key responsibilities include governing and ensuring the integrity of corporate data, organizing and analyzing data, including Larger Language Models (LLMs), to extract valuable insights that drive decision-making. You'll collaborate with teams across functions to maintain data accuracy, integrity, and security, and contribute to the development of databases and related infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of business data while complying with GDPR requirements
  • Extract, clean, and transform datasets for insightful analyses, uncovering patterns, and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Administer Power BI, SharePoint, and data management tools, including LLMs
  • Automate workflows using Power Automate or UI Path for streamlined solutions
  • Utilize Power BI over SQL data warehouse for reporting and analytics
  • Generate insights from data to create meaningful visualizations and reports supporting decision-making

What we're looking for

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
  • Proficiency in SQL and programming languages for data analysis
  • Expertise in Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with machine learning platforms and algorithms
