We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at an entry-level and receive world-class training to get you on to a defined career pathway.
About You
Do you want to spend your working time making a difference in the world around you? Are you passionate about helping our incredible national health service make a difference? Do you care about keeping vulnerable patients safe? If so, then a career with STERIS Instrument Processing would be a great fit for you.
Full-time, 37.5 hrs per week on Monday-Friday at 7:00-15:00 + 1 in 4 weekends cover and 1 in 8 on-call duty outside working hours.
What is involved?- Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
- Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
- Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
- Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust's appointed person.
- An annual salary of £22,383.00 plus a 5% performance bonus, and generous shift allowances if you work overtime/unsociable hours Plus a higher cost of living allowance if you work in London.

Access to a Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant Apprenticeship This is a 12-15 month fully funded programme studying good scientific practice for the Healthcare profession It is universally applicable outside of STERIS Completed on the job, you are given 20% of your working hours to study towards the qualification. Further apprenticeships are available throughout the course of your career
