Senior Buyer

A dynamic and successful company based in Southampton, known for their diverse working environment and ethical approach towards customers, is currently looking to expand their team with a Senior Buyer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of a variety of goods and services. Working closely with the technical and manufacturing teams, you will need to have strong organizational skills, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records, follow established processes, and provide detailed reports.

• Purchase goods, materials, components, or services while meeting delivery, quality, and cost targets.
• Ensure a consistent supply of necessary goods and materials, promptly addressing supply issues that could impact business operations.
• Adhere to company guidelines, purchasing policies, and industry best practices.
• Evaluate tenders, quotations, and supplier capabilities, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Manage supplier performance reviews and promote contract compliance.
• Implement process improvement plans to enhance procurement activities within the organization.
• Provide necessary briefs, updates, and reports as needed.
• Follow the company's health, safety, and environmental policies.

• Possess a professional qualification in procurement and supply or equivalent, or have a minimum of 3 years of procurement experience in a technical setting.
• Demonstrated purchasing expertise in an electronics design and manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of basic 2D technical drawings would be advantageous.
• Experience collaborating with product development teams to ensure optimal component selection and minimize supply risks.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Proficient in using MRP/ERP systems to support business growth, with specific experience in SYSPRO ERP being beneficial.
• Proven track record of meeting operational and commercial objectives.

Offer:

• Salary: up to £45,000 per annum
• Working hours: Monday to Friday with hybrid work model, including 1 day of remote work per week.
