We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join the team at our client's location in Ballyclare

The chosen candidate will play a key role in conducting inspections, diagnostic tests, as well as handling servicing, maintenance, and repairs, which may involve part replacements.


Responsibilities:
  • Complete various tasks ranging from routine servicing to troubleshooting, dealing with electrical components, and performing assemblies and disassemblies
  • Ensure that repairs are done following the manufacturer's guidelines in a safe and efficient manner
  • Adhere to Standard Times for repairs, utilizing specific tools when necessary
  • Support in identifying faults within the vehicles
  • Follow warranty procedures for repairs and handle warranty materials post-repair completion
  • Collaborate with the parts team to guarantee the fitting of accurate replacement components
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles when needed (valid HGV license holder)
  • Provide assistance during roadside breakdowns if necessary
  • Report all vehicle defects to the Workshop Supervisor
  • Accurately fill out service sheets as per Company guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with time recording procedures and accurately complete job cards
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of workshop facilities, tools, and equipment
  • Adhere to appropriate Personal Protective Equipment guidelines
  • Offer support in mentoring apprentices and trainees as needed

Requirements:

  • Must be a qualified technician with a strong drive to advance in a dynamic company
  • Prior experience in the truck, bus, and trailer industry is a must
