Responsibilities:

  • Origination and checking of structural analysis hand calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant design codes such as PD5500, MAP 01-470, BS 5950, and BS EN
  • Conduct and review structural finite element modelling and analysis, utilising FEA software such as Ansys and/or LS-Dyna. This includes linear static and non-linear (contact and elasto-plastic)analysis.
  • Provide technical approvals for structural analysis documentation and calculations.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure designs meet code requirements and project specifications.
  • Support certification through analysis and code calculations as required
  • Utilise Teamcentre, Mathcad, Prime, and NX to support structural analysis tasks and documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in the origination and checking of structural analysis hand calculations.

Proficiency in FEA software (Ansys and/or LS-Dyna) with the ability to perform complex structural analyses.

Familiarity with relevant design codes (PD5500, MAP 01-470, BS 5950, BS EN

Experience with Teamcentre, Mathcad, Prime, and NX is highly desirable.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in marine engineering projects.

Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies in structural analysis.
