Band 4 Research Practitioner

The post holder will provide clinical and administrative support to the Research team within an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Supporting the multi-disciplinary team to deliver research protocol activities, they will assist in assessing feasibility, study set-up, participant identification and recruitment, through to completion and close down.

They will work collaboratively with internal teams and external organisations involved in the running of research at this Trust.

22.5 Hours per week

Monday - Friday


A key responsibility of the role will be to support research across the Network and the post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and facilitation of concurrent research studies, demonstrating a clear commitment to patient safety and high quality research delivery.

This role will be part of our Integrated Research Team, supporting current research staff in recruitment and follow up of participants in NIHR portfolio clinical research studies across multiple specialties.


This will include but not be limited to:

collection, recording and maintaining data, taking samples, performing tests and physical measurements in accordance with the clinical trial protocol, and ICH-GCP, Trust standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies on data protection, confidentiality and security.

Training and support will be given on commencement in post and with each new study.
