An exciting opportunity has arisen to join as a Bank Practitioner staff member within the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) which is collocated next to the Emergency Department.


The postholder will be responsible for providing clinical expertise to allow patients to be seen, treated, discharged or signposted to alternative service provision.

In addition, the post holder will be required to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of a high standard of individualised patient care and improving patient experience.

You will demonstrate continuing professional development, reflecting individual needs, the needs of the team and organisation.


In our new purpose-built facility, we have additional assessment rooms, a plaster room and eye clinic room to ensure that patients receive the best timely treatment that we can provide.

The expansion will support the local population and will ensure that we have the necessary space to provide treatments.

Act as an independent, autonomous practitioner, assessing, diagnosing, caring, treating and discharging patients using sound clinical rationale.

Work under the direction of the senior practitioner team, in close liaison with interdependent departments.

  • Your duties and responsibilities will be undertaken on a shift and rotation basis covering 24 hours 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.
  • To provide assessment, treatment management and discharge of adults and children attending the Urgent Care Centre.
  • To supervise and provide management ( on a shift basis ) of band 2 Nursing assistants and band 5 triage nurses.
  • Referral of patients to senior clinicians or interdependent departments ( SAU / ED / paediatrics / GP practices ) promoting professional working relationships.
