Hopefield Animal Sanctuary is home to over 600 rescued, neglected, and unwanted animals, and we provide them with a loving home for life.

Our ethos is that our animals can live out the rest of their lives at the sanctuary, safe and free from harm.

We don't believe in disciplining our animals, but instead, altering our ways to suit each of their special needs. As rescue animals, they all have their quirks and different characters that we all learn to love.


A big element of keeping the sanctuary running, and providing for our residents, is hosting a range of events, experiences, birthday parties, etc.

This position will be split between working with our incredible animals and hosting visitor-related activities.

Animal Caregiver responsibilities:_

  • Preparing and giving feeds
  • Watering
  • Mucking out / cleaning enclosures
  • Assisting with health checks and administering medication
  • Providing enrichment

Activity Host responsibilities:_

  • Getting involved in our fundraising events:
  • Interact with visitors in our mascot costume
  • Become a festive elf during Christmas at Ho-HoHopefield
  • Host birthday parties
  • Run ethical animal experiences
  • Animal talks
  • Empathy for the animals in our care
  • Share the sanctuary's ethos / must not partake in animal exploitation
  • Used to working to timescales
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Previous experience working with animals is preferred

Note:
No annual leave can be taken during school holidays or event weekends for this position.

Job Type:
Part-time

Salary:
£6.40-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 26 per week
