Our Finance team are currently seeking a Payroll Manager (12 Month FTC) to be responsible for overseeing UK monthly payroll and expenses for over 3,500 employees, including team management of 6.

The Role

Reporting into the Director of Financial Control, this role will be maintaining system processes and testing bi-annual system upgrades alongside day to day system support. Implementing system configuration changes for new features and system improvements. Completing month end journals and reconciliations.

This is a 12-month contract as maternity cover for our Payroll Manager. The role is a Hybrid role, based in our Leeds office at least 2 days per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Management of a team of 6 within Payroll; responsibility for their professional development and managing their day to day workload, and regularly reviewing their work and processes.
  • Review of month end reports including GTN, Variance and EPS reporting
  • Sign off of Monthly Payroll with Director of Financial Control
  • Maintaining and improving the existing Payroll processes across all Payroll types
  • Submission of EPS and other RTI to HMRC
  • Running monthly payroll process jobs
  • System support alongside IT of the Ceridian Dayforce Payroll system
  • Maintenance of the two expense systems - ClickTravel and Concur
  • Review and maintenance of the monthly processing of expenses through Concur, including end payments to employees
  • Processing the data from Payroll and the Expenses into the Finance System after review from the Director of Financial Control, and maintenance of reconciliations relating to these postings
  • Ad hoc global mobility applications
  • Testing and support for Dayforce upgrades as required
  • Involvement in other ad hoc areas as requested

The Person

The ideal candidate will have held a similar role previously and have a few years' experience of payroll processing role, and be able work well under pressure to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are always met.

  • Passionate about PureGym and understands how a payroll function can best serve wider business needs.
  • Strong attention to detail, and proven ability to work to deadlines through effective time management.

  • Experience with Concur, Dayforce and Click Travel preferred but not essential
