Job Title: Senior Tester (Avaloq)

Location: Edinburgh, UK

Job Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

The Avaloq Tester will be responsible for all test activities throughout the testing life-cycle of Avaloq solutions for key customer accounts, with a specific focus on digital applications like Web-banking and Mobile-banking. This is a customer-facing role that requires excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage stress levels in demanding project contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define Test Policy and Test Plan.
  • Provide effort estimations and track the test effort to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Monitor and control testing activities against planned budget and quality gates.
  • Report progress to management and clients.
  • Manage client relationships with appropriate communication.
  • Manage defects and reporting.
  • Design, update, and execute functional and business test scenarios and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring their reusability.
  • Manage test environments (baseline definition and maintenance, assessment on environment readiness).

Must-Have Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of test concepts and methodology.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of the banking and/or finance industry or other regulatory environments.
  • Functional knowledge of Web and Mobile banking.
  • Experience with Avaloq banking system solution.
  • Working knowledge of MicroFocus QC/ALM, JIRA, MS Office Suite.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Technical knowledge of web and mobile applications.
  • Experience of testing in Agile contexts (Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, TDD, BDD, API testing).
  • ISTQB Certification or equivalent.
  • Required Soft Skills: Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving competences.
  • Structured and rigorous approach.
  • Team player and strong client-orientation.
  • Ability and flexibility to work in a highly challenging, fast-paced, and complex environment.
