Your focus will be to deliver a parts procurement service by ensuring the immediate availability of fast moving parts and the delivery of parts within agreed timescales, dealing with supplier and parts issues

Duties will include:

  • Manage pricing and trading agreements and quotations
  • Ensuring you deliver on time
  • Cutting schedules for the steel
  • Organising Yard men and Drill lines for products to be cut
  • Providing details on what way the production team need to cut the product
  • Stock control for left over steel etc
  • Provide feedback and guidance on cost and buildability to the team
  • Being proactive with suppliers, subcontractors on price increases, material availability, delivery logistics, etc

Criteria:

  • Experienced buyer within a similar industry
  • Strong knowledge of engineering / manufacturing components and parts
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent, communication, relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Excellent budget control and cost analysis skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and IT skills
